BEHIND THE LENS

My name is Kira Higgins and I really enjoy doing photography. I first got into photography when I was younger when my grandpa would take me on shoots with him and let me use his big fancy cameras. I enjoy going out and exploring the city to find new places that would be fun for shoots. 

My favorite thing to shoot are portraits because I like the different emotions you can read from a person's face. I think people are a lot more interesting than buildings because no two look the same. This semester, I have had a few problems with finding enough time to finish my shoots and some trouble finding models to take pictures of. I think my photos have improved from last semester to this semester in the overall look of the photos but in the future I would like to push myself to try harder things like more large format prints. I am planning on getting a minor in photography in college and continuing with photography through my senior year.
